This past year has brought so much change to me. I’ve travelled, I’ve learned, I’ve graduated college, I’ve gained, I’ve lost, and most importantly I’ve lived. I feel that I’ve made leaps and bounds as the person I am today over who I was a year ago. I’ve found new passions and rediscovered old ones. I have done many things in the past year, and each thing has helped me grow. I will continue in this path. I will motivate myself to further my ambitions. I will continue to live!

The boy in that picture is my friend Sean (and his sister & one of my closest friends, Jaedyn) he’s only 18 and has been through being emergency airlifted, put on life support, put into a coma and started chemo therapy for a very rare blood disease called HLH. Basically his white blood cells were being over produced and not effective at fighting off the virus he had. The cells began to attack and build up in his organs slowly shutting down his body. If not treated quickly HLH is rapidly fatal.

He’s a strong and healthy kid he was never sick before this. Things like this could happen to anyone. They could happen to the people you care about. Take the time to stay in touch and remind people that you care because you never know.

I can’t imagine how I would feel to finally wake up and hear that you had gotten and needed to continue chemotherapy. But Sean didn’t complain, he’s been totally optimistic and ready to face it head on.

I know that if Sean’s body could handle the chemo while he was on life support he can handle it now no problem. He won’t give up and he won’t sit around feeling sorry for himself. The first thing Sean said to me after being taken off life support and out of the coma was telling me not to worry and that he’s doing much better. That’s the kind of guy Sean is he wants to lighten the mood and make everyone laugh, he doesn’t want anyone sitting around feeling sorry for him.

All of them are really thankful and have thanked me way too many times just for putting up that site for them. They really deserve to be helped out. They’re so strong with such a positive outlook and kept that outlook no matter how Sean was doing that day.

Even though Sean is doing extremely well. He’s been hospitalized since March 11th and still needs additional chemotherapy treatment. The average cost in this area for a 4 day stay that the family has to pay after insurance and everything is over 8,000 dollars. That’s just four days he’s been hospitalized an entire month.
